FAQs
Why do I need a doula?
Labor and birth is a wild and beautiful journey. A doula is an advocate that helps you pave the way for a supported and positive birth experience. They help you make informed decisions, give emotional and physical support, and join you in the journey from birth preparation through postpartum.
Who do you work with?
A doula/mom relationship needs to be symbiotic. Not everyone will be a good match. There will be a consult to evaluate this before we commit to the full journey together.
What is the value of birth education?
Information truly is power. In order to feel empowered during your birth, it takes dedication during the pregnancy to learn, plan, and envision your ideal birth scenario. Births are not linear, but education and planning help alleviate stress when it’s game time. The birth education class allows you to learn in a trusted environment that is catered to your needs and questions, resulting in an empowered mama by the end of it!
What locale do you serve?
I am based in Walnut Creek, CA and work with mamas in the extended East Bay area. (roughly from Martinez to Pleasanton, service area based on commute time)
When should I hire a doula?
The earlier the better, but no later than the third trimester is ideal. This allows a connection to be formed before the birth, and the necessary time for the prenatal visits.
